Terms of Service
At Still Waters Grooming, my goal is to make every grooming experience safe, positive, and as stress-free as possible for your pet. Please review the following terms carefully before your appointment.
Aggressive or Dangerous Pets
• Owners MUST inform the groomer if their pet has ever bitten, shown aggression, or reacts negatively to grooming procedures.
• The groomer reserves the right to refuse or stop services at any time if a pet becomes aggressive, and may charge an Aggressive Pet Handling Fee in addition to the regular grooming rate.
• If a pet bites, scratches, or causes property damage, the owner is responsible for all related medical expenses, recovery costs, equipment repair, and lost income.
Health, Medical Problems, and Senior Pets
• Grooming can be stressful, particularly for senior or ill pets, and may expose or worsen underlying health conditions.
• Pets with health concerns will be groomed for comfort and cleanliness, avoiding any added stress.
• If a medical issue arises during the appointment, the groomer may recommend immediate veterinary care.
• If the owner is not available, the groomer will attempt contact before taking the pet to the authorized veterinarian.
• All veterinary expenses are the responsibility of the pet owner.
Accidents
• Grooming tools are sharp, and even with the utmost care, accidents can happen, including nicks, cuts, or quicked nails—especially if a pet moves suddenly.
• If you are home during the groom, please do not speak to or approach your pet unless directed, as it may cause excitement or distraction.
• If a pet becomes overly anxious or unsafe to continue, the groomer may end the session early and the full grooming fee will still apply.
Fleas and Ticks
• If you know your pet has fleas, please inform the groomer ahead of time.
• If fleas are discovered during the groom, services will stop immediately until the issue is resolved, and the full grooming fee remains due.
• If ticks are found, they will be removed and you will be informed. It is strongly advised to have your pet tested for tick-borne illnesses such as Lyme Disease.
Puppy’s First Haircut
• Introducing puppies to grooming requires patience and gradual acclimation.
• The goal during the first few visits is to build trust, not to complete a full groom.
• You can help by regularly touching your puppy’s paws, face, and coat and familiarizing them with clipper or brushing sounds at home.
• This cooperative approach helps ensure a lifetime of positive grooming experiences.
No Shows & Late Cancellations
• Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment or missed appointments will incur a 50% service fee, charged at your next visit.
• Example: A $100 groom will result in a $50 cancellation/no-show fee.
• I understand that emergencies happen and will do my best to be flexible, but this policy helps value everyone’s time.
Payment
• Accepted forms of payment: Cash or Credit/Debit Card.
• Payment is due upon completion of the service.
• A $10 per day late fee will be applied for overdue balances
